Portland Temps Soar...Harris's Head to the Coast!

We knew it was coming....a full weekend of record setting temperatures for the Portland area. We'd already endured the post-100 degree temps once this summer and with Chad still in Viriginia for UPS company training, I said "that's it! I'm taking the kids and heading to the coast!" So, Friday morning I called my friend Melissa to see if she and her little girl, Maddy, wanted to come along. She said "sure" and soon we were on our way. The coast was beautiful! Mid-70s with a slight breeze....ahhhh! After spending several hours on the beach, we started the trek home. It was crazy watching the temperature gauge in the car climb as we headed inland. By the time we were home, it read 108!!!! The "official" temp (via the weatherman) was 104 for the day, but combined with the heat of the road, I'm sure the 108 was pretty accurate.

Gavin's Birthday and Cute Pics of Alayna at 6 Weeks

We took Gavin to Red Robin on his birthday (July 13th). They did the whole shabang where they come and make him stand on his chair and put a "balloon hat" on him while they sing Happy Birthday. He loved it!

I wanted to snap a few pictures of Alayna, now that she's 6 weeks old! I love this outfit! The dress was a gift from her aunt Tammy and the sweater and bonnet are gifts from Grandma Miriam.....so cute! Don't you just love the shoe socks?

Our Trip to the Japanese Gardens

We took a trip to the Japanese Gardens here in Portland. Of course, I had to snap a shot of the waterfall. Mom leaves on Saturday to go back to Michigan. The past 6 weeks have just flown....I'm going to miss her so much. But I'm very happy that she will be returning with Dad in the fall. Also, Karen will be coming out next month to visit for a week....so excited about that. And Kelly? Uh, ya, Kelly.....so, when you coming out Kel? (hehe)
