38 and a half weeks!

You know you're huge when you can't fit into the booth at the restaurant.....that's what happened tonight at Red Robin. The hostess that seated us was so embarrassed, but I just laughed about it. We had to move to a table.....how funny is that? My Drs. appt. went well today. She said I'm "just barely to 1 cm" so I'm progressing.....go figure! Mom flies out on Saturday....I can't believe I'm almost there! Oh, and I added 4 pounds to my ankles.....yippee!

Just Found This....

Thought you might like to see the "before" picture of the kitchen for comparison. This was what it looked like when we first moved in.

Krista at 38 Weeks ~ Our New Kitchen

After a year and a half of a partially finished kitchen, we finally have it all done....well, almost anyway! All that's left is to texture and paint the walls, get the glass door for the corner cabinet (where we keep all of our China) and some day replace the flooring. I am so happy with how well it turned out. For those of you who don't know, this is a professionally installed Harris kitchen....installed by members of the Harris family, that is. Chad's dad, Tom, is a general contractor and with his supervision, Chad and his brothers (Dan, Brian and Logan) were able to install everything last weekend. Thanks so much, guys! The kitchen is beautiful!

Gavin came home from daycare yesterday with a baby that he was given by Jennie, his daycare provider. She has two daughters and tons of dolls, so she said she wouldn't mind parting with one for Gavin to "practice" with. I guess they spent much time yesterday practicing how to hold the baby. Gavin told me he's not supposed to touch the top of the baby's head or her eyes. He got very into this last night and we put a diaper and a onesie on the baby and I showed Gavin how to swaddle her. Gavin's baby's name is Alayna. I kept trying to get him to pick a different name, but every suggestion was turned down. So, for now anyway, Gavin's baby is Alayna.

Cute comment of the day: This morning when Gavin woke up, he asked "Could we let the baby sleep a little longer?" I assured him that would be fine. I'm so excited to see how great of a big brother he will be.

My Dr. is on vacation this week, so my appt. yesterday was with the nurse midwife there. She was very nice and definitely did her homework on me before our appt. She knew everything about my previous labor and Gavin's delivery and was very encouraging saying "this time will be so much different." The only bummer part was that I found out that my GBS test came back positive. She could tell I was visibly disappointed, but kept telling me how its not a big deal. Its really not and I'm trying to keep telling myself that too. Chad and I are meeting with Shari, our doula, tonight. I'm excited to meet with her and talk about all the last minute details of labor.

Gavin's Belly Shot

After mama got her picture taken, Gavin wanted a picture of his belly too!

Krista at 36 Weeks

I had my 36 week doctor's appointment on Wednesday. I took the GBS test, but don't have the results yet. Its so hard to wait! She also did a quick ultrasound to check baby's position and the head is, indeed, down, so that's one thing I don't have to worry about....yay! Everything else was great. Good strong heartbeat. My Dr. is very pleased to hear that she's still very active. I'm still measuring right on schedule. So, now all we have to do is wait!

My Baby This Week

"As the mother’s abdomen stretches thinner, light is visible inside the womb, helping baby to develop sleep cycles, reactions, and responses to her surrounding environment."

This was in my weekly pregnancy email that I got today and I thought it was very interesting. Today is a beautiful day.....sunny and its going to be in the high 60s! Plus, I feel cute in an outfit I found at Ross Dress for Less this weekend. (For those of you out east, Ross is just like TJ Maxx).

5 and a half weeks until my due date!!!

I had a GREAT time at my baby shower this weekend. Thanks so much to everyone who were able to come and celebrate with us. Whether you were with us physically or in spirit, you might enjoy some photos that my friend, Melissa, posted on her blog (just click on the "Melissa" link to the right). I haven't had a chance to get any pics up on my page yet.
