Krista at 38 Weeks ~ Our New Kitchen

After a year and a half of a partially finished kitchen, we finally have it all done....well, almost anyway! All that's left is to texture and paint the walls, get the glass door for the corner cabinet (where we keep all of our China) and some day replace the flooring. I am so happy with how well it turned out. For those of you who don't know, this is a professionally installed Harris kitchen....installed by members of the Harris family, that is. Chad's dad, Tom, is a general contractor and with his supervision, Chad and his brothers (Dan, Brian and Logan) were able to install everything last weekend. Thanks so much, guys! The kitchen is beautiful!

Gavin came home from daycare yesterday with a baby that he was given by Jennie, his daycare provider. She has two daughters and tons of dolls, so she said she wouldn't mind parting with one for Gavin to "practice" with. I guess they spent much time yesterday practicing how to hold the baby. Gavin told me he's not supposed to touch the top of the baby's head or her eyes. He got very into this last night and we put a diaper and a onesie on the baby and I showed Gavin how to swaddle her. Gavin's baby's name is Alayna. I kept trying to get him to pick a different name, but every suggestion was turned down. So, for now anyway, Gavin's baby is Alayna.

Cute comment of the day: This morning when Gavin woke up, he asked "Could we let the baby sleep a little longer?" I assured him that would be fine. I'm so excited to see how great of a big brother he will be.
